TOKYO, October 2026 — Lightning LLC today announced Rosso Speedometer for iPhone, a GPS speedometer that does one thing: show your speed. A single, finely drawn analog gauge fills a pure black screen, with a polished metal bezel, a deep dial, a glowing needle and an arc of light that follows your speed. There are no maps, no ads, no account and no trip history.

"We wanted a GPS speedometer that is simple and good-looking, and nothing more," the Lightning LLC team said. "So we spent our time on the gauge itself and left everything else out."

Just the gauge

Zero sits at the bottom of the dial and the needle sweeps 270 degrees, with top speed at the right. A digital readout sits in the lower right. Below the gauge, Rosso Speedometer shows four numbers: distance, top speed, average speed and elapsed time.

Where it fits

Rosso Speedometer is for people who like to see their speed on a train, on a ferry, from the passenger seat, or on a bike with the phone in a mount. It is meant to be set up before you set off. Speed and distance are GPS-based reference values: they can be inaccurate or delayed and may stop updating in tunnels. The app is not a replacement for a vehicle's speedometer. Drivers should not operate it or watch the screen while driving, and should always follow traffic laws.

Nur der Tacho

Die Null liegt unten, die Nadel schwenkt über 270 Grad, die Höchstgeschwindigkeit liegt rechts. Unten rechts sitzt ein Digitalfenster. Unter dem Tacho stehen nur vier Werte: Strecke, Höchst- und Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit sowie die verstrichene Zeit.

• Drei Zifferblätter: Schwarz, Gelb und Rot – gleiches Design, andere Farbe.

• Privat: kein Konto, keine Werbung, keine Analyse. Der Standort verlässt das iPhone nie, ein Fahrtenverlauf wird nicht gespeichert. Die App hat keinen Server.

Wofür

Rosso Speedometer ist für alle, die ihre Geschwindigkeit sehen möchten: im Zug, auf der Fähre, auf dem Beifahrersitz oder auf dem Fahrrad mit dem iPhone in einer Halterung. Eingestellt wird vor der Abfahrt. Geschwindigkeit und Strecke sind GPS-basierte Richtwerte; sie können ungenau oder verzögert sein und in Tunneln stehen bleiben. TOKYO, octobre 2026 — Lightning LLC annonce Rosso Speedometer pour iPhone, un compteur de vitesse GPS qui ne fait qu’une chose : afficher la vitesse. Un seul compteur analogique, finement dessiné, occupe un écran entièrement noir : cerclage en métal poli, cadran profond, aiguille lumineuse et arc de lumière qui suit la vitesse. Pas de carte, pas de publicité, pas de compte, pas d’historique de trajets.

Juste le compteur

Le zéro est en bas du cadran, l’aiguille balaie 270 degrés et la vitesse maximale se trouve à droite. Un affichage numérique est placé en bas à droite. Sous le compteur, seulement quatre valeurs : distance, vitesse maximale, vitesse moyenne et durée.

• Trois cadrans : noir, jaune et rouge. Même dessin, seule la couleur change.
• km/h ou mph, cinq échelles : 40, 80, 180, 260 et 340 km/h (25 à 220 mph), du vélo et du bateau jusqu’au train à grande vitesse.

• Continue de mesurer en arrière-plan, écran verrouillé compris.
• Arrêt automatique : à l’arrêt pendant 5, 10 ou 30 minutes, le GPS se coupe de lui-même pour ne pas vider la batterie. Les feux rouges et les embouteillages ne le déclenchent pas.
• Confidentialité : pas de compte, pas de publicité, pas d’analyse. La position ne quitte jamais l’iPhone et aucun historique n’est conservé. L’app n’a pas de serveur.
